May Reading Supplement is Posted

I just posted my May Reading Supplement Packet onto TpT.  I have to say, I think this one is my favorite so far.    If you are unfamiliar with these packets, they include 20 original fluency passages (5 per week).  Each packet includes Power Words, comprehension questions, a home connection, and some other type of language arts activity.  I use one every day during Extended Day (this is a 20 minute time span that was added on to the end of our school day.)
The weekly themes are weather, bugs, picnic, and beach.  I have included a sample of each week for a free download.

  1. I LOVE your reading packets! It's inspiring me... :)

  2. I love the samples! Do you have any third grade ones laying around?? :) Would the complete packets work for 3rd?

Thoughts of a Third Grade Teacher

  3. @Julie,
I don't know if these would be challenging enough for the majority of your 3rd graders. I have heard from others that they work well for a lower group of 3rd graders and for special education students.
Maybe after I have a year's worth of 1st grade packets done, I'll move on to another grade level ;)

  4. Hey how did you post these docs on your webpage with google docs? I tried but can't figure out how to get them from google docs to my blog! Thanks!!

  5. I open up my document on Google Docs, right click and Save Picture As. This way I have a picture of my document. Next, click on Share Settings in Google Docs and change it to Public. This will give you a code to copy into your blog. When you get to your blog, insert the picture of your document, click on the picture (it will turn blue) and click Link. This will let you paste that code.
    Clear as mud, right?

    Hope that helps.

  6. I am making a packet of optional work for the summer. "Beach" and your other ideas are perfect for this!

I {heart} comments!
